New underwear store alert: Bearguy - for Bears and admirers

$

We are very happy to announce the launch of a new online store for bears and their admirers: Bearguy. The all new, Britain based, store features a range of T-shirts, underwear and swimwear aimed at beefy guys and their fans all created in the UK for the store's own brand Bearbum.
The T-shirts are available in sizes Small to 5XL from 36” to 64” chest. The printed images on the Tees have been sourced from creative artists Chris Lopez, Ego Rodriguez and Alex T Frazer.  The initial collection of the store comprises 10 T-shirt designs with more to follow in the coming months. Their price ranges from £12 to £20.
Their Bearbum underwear and swimwear are available in 4 specially created sizes: Otter, Cub, Bear and Grizzly from 32” to 44” waist. The underwear and swimwear are designed by Chris Clark and are available in four colours: black, yellow, red, blue. Underwear and swimwear will rage from £12 to £25.
Chris said: “I think it’s important that underwear and swimwear look and feel great. A lot of what’s on the market isn’t aimed at bigger guys. I’ve had friends of all different sizes trying things on to check that what we’ve come up with is comfortable. I’ve chosen the fabrics for their stretch and feel. The vibrant colours mean that you’ll get noticed!”
Apart from designer, Chris Clark is also the founder of Bearguy. After working for 30 years for a government owned company, Chris decided it is time to follow his dream of working for himself. He is using a redundancy payout to start this company and has dedicated himself in providing sexy yet fashionable clothing for bears.
Chris said: “I coudn’t wait to launch the site. It’s been hard work getting it ready but loads of fun. I hope that bears and their fans will really like what I’ve done. I can’t wait to see guys out wearing the t-shirts.”
Chris has tried to keep as much of the manufacturing as possible local:“All the underwear and swimwear is designed and manufactured in the UK. Even better than that – Yorkshire! The t-shirts are printed in the UK too.”
The first Bearguy photoshoot took place on 16th May. The photographer is Neil Z Page, who did an amazing job in making the clothes, and the guys wearing them, look awesome. Many of the models are beefy guys and you can see below just how sexy bigger guys can look.

Today's underwear suggestion is a jock that you can wear as an underwear as well as a swimwear. The Barcode Berlin Swimmer Jockstrap "Anton" is a very stylish jockstrap, different from most, in that the 3/4" leg straps come off the pouch rather than off the waistband. Contains a ribbed contour pouch giving it style and offering comfort. Barcode Berlin label appears on the front of the waistband.

One of our favourite mens underwear (and swimwear) retailers is definitely VOCLA. The guys keep  on expanding their collection and adding new brands and ranges that we love on a monthly basis. Today's post is about their latest brand addition, C-IN2. Lets have a closer look at the American brand's Culture Club and H+A+R+D collections which are now available from the British retailer.

C-IN2 H+A+R+D – You have probably seen this collection being featured in the past on this blog. The H+A+R+D collection reinvents a classic jockstrap style with a new waistband design which is inspired by the markings of extreme sports. The underwear is made with a stretchy ribbed polyester, providing a great fit. Every season, C-IN2 adds new colours to the H+A+R+D collection and VOCLA has the Spring/Summer 2015 colours (white, black and red).

C-IN2 Culture Club– The culture club collection infuses pop art with underwear design. C-IN2 use engineered printing to paint artwork onto the underwear, creating some unique and bold designs. The underwear is made with modal material and the designs have a contoured pouch for a little support and definition. There are new Culture Club designs released each season and VOCLA has the Spring/Summer 2015 designs.

Underwear review: King Style - Series D Stripe Pattern Fit Brief

Today's underwear review is of the Series D Stripe Pattern Fit Brief by King Style. The item was supplied to us by King Style and is part of their Series D collection. King Style is a mens underwear brand based in Taiwan. They launched in 1999 under the name "King Size" which was changed to the current "King Style" in 2003. They offer 5 Series of underwear, each with its own unique features. Their designs are patented in countries such as Australia, Taiwan, USA, Japan and China.

King Style - Series D Stripe Pattern Fit Brief review

Review by Ethan for Men and Underwear blog

Great value for money. I was very happy to receive this pair of briefs from the guys at King Style the other day. I find briefs the most comfortable cut for summer and I am always happy to try new and innovative pouch designs, so I was very excited to try these on and put them to the test. These briefs are part of the D series of the Taiwan-based brand, which means there is a double layered pouch with a hygiene focused design. The overall style of the pouch was new to me and I had to find my way through how the design works best. There is literally a special place for everything, but if you turn them inside out you will see exactly how to wear them properly and what to put where. The pouch is made in such a way as to keep all your parts separated by layers of fabric, I guess to prevent rubbing. The style seems to work well. They were mostly comfortable, with only one or two readjustments needing to be made throughout the day! Sometimes underwear designs with "hygienic" features can look a bit strange. The difference that King Style makes is that these briefs do serve the purpose and at the same time look very nice! I was pleasantly surprised to find quite a few elements you see in much more expensive underwear, such as printed washing instructions and a centered logo on the waistband. The fly front is fully functional with openings on either side. The panels are cut with precision, something that really shows on a striped pattern fabric. Here the stripes are perfectly horizontal where they should be and at a slight bias on the front panels to visually enhance the pouch. The fabric is light and airy, polyamide-based with 10% spandex, so they have a slightly silky feel as well as very good stretch and a nice fit. Very comfortable throughout, the only exception being that I found the leg openings slightly tight, and I don’t have big legs, so ideally these would be best for guys with slim thighs. Having said that, maybe this is a piece of underwear you should try.

Price: 15.00 AUD (that around 11.50 USD or 10.50 euro or 7.50 GBP at the time of this review)

New underwear brand alert: Retrobottega

$

We have very recently discovered this new mens underwear brand from Italy called Retrobottega. The brand is only a few weeks old and was founded with an ambitious objective: to offer an individual range of designer mens underwear at an affordable price.
Retrobottega translates as the "back room", "back store" and during the Renaissance it referred to a master's work shop:
During the Renaissance all artists spent their youth as humble apprentices, learning their craft in their master’s workshop: the retrobottega. If they learned well, an artist might attempt a masterpiece. If it was recognized as such by their guild they would officially become a master artist. Then, they could open their own retrobottega and continue the tradition.
Retrobottega currently operates from its HQ / workshop in Santamonica, Italy and design in-house their products. They pride themselves of using the best materials from their most trusted sources to provide an individual style and partnering up with a leading manufacturer of men’s underwear. Why are they different? Read how they present the "Retrobottega way":
Here at Retrobottega, we do things ourselves and really care about what we do. It’s the old way of the craftsman, who spends endless hours on a single piece, trying to perfect it because he wants to create something beautiful, authentic, with an intrinsic value. No silly claims like “we make the best men’s underwear in the world”, like many others out there. We just try harder.
Below you can see the first campaign released by the brand just days ago. Check out the brand's website (link at the beginning of this post) to check out all their designs. We learned that their launch collection has almost sold out so you'd better hurry if you want to try their underwear.

Today's underwear review is of the Billy briefs and hipster by aussieBum. The underwear were purchased by the aussieBum's official online retailer by one of our reviewers and are part of the Billy range of the Australian brand.

aussiebum - Billy hipster - underwear review

Review by Jeff for Men and Underwear blog

Aussie Bum’s Billy briefs deserve a mention for being some of the most comfortable men’s underwear on the planet – with an understated individuality of design that makes them one of my top favourites. Plain white, blue or black (with white trims), low cut, and with a printed detail below the rear waistband, they are kind of unusual for their simplicity, maybe even a bit odd at first. The white one could almost be prison gear. Not sure... But then wear them and, especially if you have plenty up front and generous hams going on behind, you will probably find them the most comfortable briefs you’ve ever worn. The fit at the waist is extremely relaxed and they tend to slip down, over the cheeks, just enough I’d say to give that comfortable relaxed at-home feeling. Like the brand says, if you’re not sure of yourself, wear something else. I’d advise you to buy your regular or a smaller size. Oh, yes, and they wash great and the colour stays true.

Price: AUD 16.49 for the hipster and AUD 15.00 to 16.50 for the brief.

Official launch of Philip Fusco's #PHILCITY store

$

Just a few months ago you voted Philip Fusco on this blog as the Best Model of 2014 in our 1st Annual Awards. A week before the announcement of our awards, the model was also voted “Favorite Underwear Model of 2015” at the Underwear News Briefs' readers awards.
During his career, Philip Fusco has represented some of the biggest underwear brands such as Andrew Christian (you may remember this naughty video of his), Gregg Homme and Todd Sanfield showing a great diversity as a model and professionalism. We have seen him also in the covers of some of our favourite magazines such as DNA (Australia), Männer (Germany) and Fugues (Canada). And that's not all. Fusco is the official fitness and nutrition advisor of KYYA radio station.
It was last September when we announced (see the post) on this blog, that the model has created his own mens underwear brand #PHILCITY. A few months after, the time has come for the official launch of #PHILCITY online store at philcity.com!
Philip Fusco and his team have tested the market and had a great feedback from all around the world. They have improved their products, website and distribution and now they are ready to launch. Their new Bamboo underwear range (fashion briefs, briefs and boxers) looks really cool. In case you have never tried wearing underwear from Bamboo fabric you should give it a shot. It's really soft and highly breathable. Very nice designs in all three cuts, 3 sizes in briefs and 4 in boxers, all in the most popular colours (white, black, charcoal grey and red). Apart from underwear you can also find a small range of accessories and tank tops.
What we liked most about #PHILCITY is that they have done their research well. Maybe just the name of the model could be enough to make this brand popular but they didn't stop there. Their first collection of underwear seems to follow the trends and yet is distinctive. The guys seem determined to put their own mark in the industry and we certainly hope they will.
Philip was in Montreal this month for a photo session for his online store with the amazing César Ochoa (Dress To KILL Magazine & Fugues). #PHILCITY items are also sold in store at Garçons Sculpteurs in Montreal.
Enjoy some photos from this shoot and check out Phillip's website to find out more about the products. From us at Men and Underwear Blog, all the best of luck to Philip and his team!
