One of our latest crushes is Jamie Clarke. We first featured the 24 year old model and athlete from the UK just a few weeks ago when we posted the editorial work of Gavin Harrison Graffiti. This year's Mr Gay Europe contest is about to begin in Austria, and the UK hopeful might look familiar to fans of specialist men's underwear and swimwear website Deadgoodundies.com. Inspired by life in the cities ES collection created a great looking campaign called Downtown for their 2014 Athletic wear and street wear. Only a few days ago we have shown you the pictures from the street wear and now it is the time to show you some from the athletic wear. The Spanish giant of the male underwear industry creates a collection full of colour, comfortable designs and great fabrics and, as always, made in Barcelona.
We totally fell in love with the army pants (last two pictures) although all the items shown below are pretty amazing!

Today we have an amazing editorial to show you from one of our favourite photographers, Gavin Harrison. In this work, Archetype, the model featured is Dan (Daniel) Francis. English guy with an amazing life story, full of ups and downs, who always wanted to become a model but never really had the confidence to do so. We read this morning on his Facebook page:

Few years ago, was with a group of friends (not friends anymore) it was when I used to party hard and it was one of those deep conversations you have when your smashed, the topic was talking about modelling and that people saying my friend would do well, now I've always felt like I had the potential to be a decent model but I had no confidence, always felt inadequate and suffered with no self belief.... anyway.... In the conversation I said "I'd like to be a model, try having a shoot and see if I could take it anywhere, it's something I've always dreamed of to be in magazines or on a cover things like that, I'd love to be able to go for it" the responses was .... No, no you cant, you wouldn't be able to, your not photogenic or pretty enough, it's not something you'd do well in......

Well, Dan, Men and Underwear blog would like to congratulate you for this brilliant work and tell you that if you meet those "friends" again please show them these pictures. They couldn't have been more wrong... You look awesome!

Men's underwear specialists Deadgoodundies.com are delighted with the huge success of one of their favourite male models, Stuart Hatton Jr, in the 2014 Mr Gay Europe competition. He didn't carry off the crown, but came in third, with a string of other wins to his credit. Stuart came tops with online voters for the title, triumphed as Mr Congeniality and won the photos challenge. He added a runner up prize in the swimwear section and added a third with the Finale question.

Today's underwear review is of the Emporio Armani Marine Eagles Motif brief. The pair we tried on was supplied to us by Banglads. These briefs are part of the new Summer 2014 collection from one of the world's favourite Italian fashion houses, Emporio Armani.

Classic design, nice feel. It feels a bit awkward to write a review about so well-known an underwear brand. You really cannot go wrong with Emporio Armani as it is one of the most consistent brands in terms of cut and fit. If you are into "classic" cut briefs, then the Marine Eagles Motif will probably hit the spot: close-fitting contour pouch, thin waistband and lightweight fabric. Maybe a bit heavily branded for my taste, with the logo printed not only on the waistband, but also repeated as a pattern on the fabric - but the resulting overall balanced colour combination of grey and navy blue is pleasing. The pair is comfortable enough to wear all day long and did really well in the wash. The fabric is super soft and lightweight and the waistband is extremely comfortable. The stitching is really strong - a good indication of underwear that is durable and that you can happily wear for a long time. Overall they feel and look exactly as you would expect from Armani at the moment.

Some extra details

Fabric: Cotton and elastane blend. The fabric is lightweight, very soft, and feels extremely comfortable against the skin. Elasticated branded waistband.

Fit: The fit is very good: Close-fitting contour pouch. Soft, stretchy fabric. Covered elasticated leg trims. Comfortable.

Manufacturing: A few loose threads but no misaligned details. The panels seem to differ slightly, with the pouch centre stitch somewhat misaligned. Strong stitching. Label with washing instructions. Armani authenticity certificate included.
