Today's underwear review is of the CURB Identity Blow Me brief. The pair we tried on was supplied to us by CURB. The mens underwear and sportswear brand in based in the UK and all their items are designed in London. Apart from underwear CURB offers shorts, muscle tops and gym gloves. The brief we tried on is part of the Identity Line of the brand comprising briefs, boxers and hipster featuring the "identity" waistbands: Bottom, Top, Versatile and Blow me.

Sporty, self confident and masculine. I was delighted to try these Blow Me - Identity briefs from CURB. A really nice pair of briefs with a contoured pouch, very comfortable cloth and a straight-forward sexy look in black with white stitching  The cut is low, so they sit lower than most briefs, front and back. The logo on the waistband is kind of direct and if you wear them to the gym, as I did, you might get one or two smiles in the locker room - can't be bad! I've worn these a few times now and they haven't lost their shape or colour and remain just as comfortable. These are very nice briefs: the pouch is roomy and comfortable, the waistband is quite light and soft, and everything stays nicely in place - until someone decides to act on what they read...

Some extra details

Fabric: Cotton and elastane blend. The fabric is lightweight, very soft, and feels extremely comfortable against the skin. Elasticated waistband with repeated Curb logo label and "identity" wording.

Fit: The fit is extremely good: Roomy pouch. Soft, stretchy fabric. Very comfortable.

Manufacturing: A few loose threads but no misaligned details. The panels are cut with extreme precision. Label with washing instructions. Logo label stitched at the front left of the underwear. Contrasting stitching on the pouch.

Here are some details about them:

Modus Vivendi Denim– This is a collection of denim themed underwear. The line comprises boxers, briefs and jockstraps in grey (picture of the brief below), white and black. Although the fabric is a cotton-elastane blend, the contrast stitching on the underwear makes it look like denim. There is a lace up fly front along with a  front leather effect panel. The waistbands differ. On the briefs and boxer, the waistband is gathered elastic. On the jockstrap, the front is ribbed cotton and the back is a traditional elasticated waist in either silver or gold. The styles are quite unique and there is a lot of design details to make this line really stand out.

Modus Vivendi French– One more unique line designed by Modus Vivendi. The material is cotton fishnet and it’s see-through! The line comprises boxers, briefs and jocks. They come in a French Tricolour theme as well as in all black and all white. The pouches on all the Tricolour items are covered with white lining while the pouches on the black and white jockstrap and boxer are not.

Croota underwear has listened to its customers and has re-released two of its most popular underwear ranges as part of its 2014 rollout of products, which will soon also include tank tops. Known for its comfort, fit and style, the California-based underwear label is heating up men’s underwear drawers just in time for Spring with its ‘Pattern Breaker Hipster’ range available in two colour options, along with its ‘Croota Through’ range.

Croota’s ‘Pattern Breaker Hipster’ (pictures above) was originally released in 2012, providing guys with sophisticated designs in both purple and black options. Its pattern was inspired by the stars of the Australian flag, as well as Croota’s unique star logo. The combination of waistband materials, including satin and polyurethane, was the first of its kind, and remains rare among underwear brands on the market today. A partial and breaking silver satin logo found along the elastic band are the hardest techniques for manufacturers to produce, but Croota is known for its quality and had no issue in re-releasing this range for its most die-hard customers. 

The ‘Croota Through’ (picture above) low-rise hipster range was first released in early 2011, but still features a sporty square-cut and body-hugging design. Made from high-quality cotton that feels great against skin, the mixed cotton and satin waistband complements the brand’s unique dedication for all-around comfort. The range, which was even featured in a photo shoot with Russian Regional Freeski Champion, Artem Chu Glebov, is available in its original navy color and orange waistband.

Both ‘Pattern Breaker Hipster’ and ‘Croota Through’ underwear ranges are made with 95% cotton and 5% spandex. Each range retails for $22.90, and both are available at www.croota.com.

One of the most "exclusive" mens underwear brands in Europe, Frenchpaks, unfortunately is coming to a closing down on March 20th 2014. The French brand launched in June 2012 and has attracted loyal and satisfied customers who appreciated the quality and fit of the label's products. Limited resources and a difficult economic climate unfortunately lead the brand to close down its activities.

Unique, sexy and comfortable. As you have probably know by now, I am a huge fan of Modus Vivendi. It was a real pleasure to try their new Denim Look Brief. This is definitely a must-have pair of underwear. There is so much going on that you really need to get it in your hands to realize the huge amount of work involved in making it. The name “Denim Look” refers to the overall impression of the design which features details similar to jeans. The fabric is cotton based and super soft. The waistband is elasticated and covered with the same fabric which makes it very comfortable. The front detailing is really unusual with the double PVC strips where the cord is laced on. To me this is the highlight of the pair and what makes it look absolutely stunning. While someone might expect this feature to make the pair uncomfortable, I found that it sits at the right height so you can barely feel it. The pouch is contour, roomy and lined. There is triple contrasting stitching, which apart from adding points to the overall great look is extremely strong and very well made. My test included a long walk and wash. It responded extremely well in both tests. It remained extremely comfortable all day and there were no surprises after the wash. No shrinking or any signs of discolouration. This item could well become the crown jewel of your underwear collection. I totally recommend it.

One of the sexiest men alive, the Israeli model, actor and entrepreneur Eliad Cohen is the new face of BCNU. The menswear brand announced the news in February and we can now show you some of the shots we have just come across on the brand's and model's Facebook pages (see links below).
The collaboration is expected to create a huge buzz for the Australian lifestyle brand (pronounced "be seein' you") and their latest men's sports wear and street wear collections. We will keep you updated with the official launch of the campaign, so stay tuned!
